Killington Ski Resort with Pico Mountain Vermont, the basin receives, on average, 250 inches of snow each year. If the snow doesn't fall from the sky, Killington/Pico makes it fall from its guns. With one of the world's largest snowmaking systems, the resort literally blankets its seven mountains in white. The resort is huge by Eastern standards, and truly has terrain for all abilities, including some super bumps, nice glades, old-time narrow trails and plenty of blue squares for easing down the mountain.
A favorite Vermont pastime, Snowshoeing is as Vermont as baseball is American. There are great snowshoeing trails in and around central Vermont and Pittsfield has the most challenging snowshoeing trails in all of Vermont. If you are up for a challenge check out the annual Pittsfield Peaks Snowshoe Marathon, Half Marathon and 6-Mile Race in March.
